RIE CERTIFICATION TRAINING COURSES The three part certification training is designed to enhance the skills and competencies of professionals who work in the field of infant care, teach in colleges or work with parents and students of infant care and development. Students will learn to implement the RIE approach through lectures, films and videos, seminars, discussions, observations, reading and practicum. College credit for these courses can also be arranged thourgh Pacific Oaks College.
Ten-week course includes an overview of the RIE philosophy - gross motor, fine motor and social-emotional development of the infant - designing the environment - planning the curriculum - issues in parenting and visits to families, centers, family day care homes and special care programs to learn to observe infants. Also offered in two-week Intensive Trainings each winter and summer, especially for out-of-towners.| Click here for the next scheduled RIE I class. College credit can be arranged. Graduates of RIE I may apply to enroll in this practicum for a minimum of twelve weeks. Students practice applying the RIE approach with infants in the weekly RIE Parent Infant Guidance Classes. May also be conducted on an Intensive basis.
On completion of RIE II, students are eligible to apply for admission to RIE III. Students are mentored to prepare and teach a RIE I class. After participation in group and self-evaluation, a letter of completion is awarded. Upon Successful Completion of RIE I, II and III, a Certificate is Awarded and the Title RIE Graduate is Conferred.
